My Girlfriends Dad Grew a Hindu skunk clone outdoors probably since early september and right now its about 18 inches tall and its yielding about 2 1/2 oz. its pretty crazy but they have those in oakland, blue sky. best clones around i think.

I WISH I WAS IN YOUR SHOES! Grab one of Subcool's "big book of buds" 1, 2, or 3. if you can get a hold of something you want, do it. (If you are a first timer find an easy strain, they practically grow themselves. you might want a good "how to" book as well. i hear there is a good one here somewhere) If not, see what options are around you that look or sound similar. With that space and light output (assuming they are HIDs) you should do fine.

easy to grow
White Widow and Jack Herer are both very vigorous and easy to grow for beginners. Jack can be quite tall, but cloning is super easy and the yields are fabulous. The Widow is just about as easy to do, yields well, and is available at Blue Sky in Oakland.

Keep em growin'

Peace

If weight is your goal, Big Bud and its relatives are the answer.

There are many high yielding strains out there. After spending
all that time and money, I suggest you take a couple of days
and read through the strain descriptions from the major seed
banks. Some of the very best include Nirvana, Sensi Seeds,
Serious Seeds, DJ Shorts, etc but there are many more
respectable seed breeders out there.

Another way to find
popular strains is to check out an online seed warehouse like
Attitude or marijuana-seeds.nl. They have many, many of
todays current strains with complete descriptions. It will
definitely be worth your time.

One high-yielding strain I had great luck with is Pot of Gold
by Flying Dutchmen. I made many, many mistakes and one
plant still produced 4 zips (in hydro) when 7 out of 10 other
strains I was growing completely died.

The hindu x skunk at blue sky is the opposite of the skunk x hindu they call pot of gold. Both are high yielders. I think big bud is the yield king.

Maybe you already understand this, but if you are searching for strains,
you should also understand the concept of a phenotype in relation to
seeds and clones.

Essentially, all seeds yield genetically different plants. The real question
is how different are they? This depends on many factors, but it is mostly
related to the breeding program and techniques used to generate the
parents. Some strains of seed from some breeders will be very, very
much alike when sprouted. Others will result in wildly different
plants. Others will be somewhere in between.

This is why it is very important to understand what seeds you are
getting (assuming seeds).

Clones are genetically identical but could be grown to display a different
phenotype because of environment. Clones are your best shot at
uniformity by far.

Many people who cannot get clones, buy seeds, grow them out, and
set aside a mother plant of each aside in vegetative growth. Then,
when all the original sprouts are fully flowered, the mother for the
next generation is the one that performed the best for the environment,
etc. Be sure to label properly.
