When to flower???
first off i have never taken any weed i have grown to the final transition the flowering stage at first i thought i would take it to the height i wanted then bring it into flowering then i started hearing about people going in to the flowering stage when the plant is 9 to 18 ninches tall which blew me away until i started hearing about how much the plant stretches in this stage which has got me f-kD i not only feel i am limited by my 5'5"W X 28" 1/2 X 8 ft tall space but also do not have my venting setup yet or my ebb n flow kit so my babies four of them are just sitting in rockwool 6 in soil not only that but my closet has no doors and i haven't gotten anything besides a thin sheet for the opening so she's not light proof yet as to why i don't have it all that would be for financial reasons anyone have an idea of what i should do? how much stretch should i expect? i have 2 big shivas 2 sour diesel 2 super silver haze 2 mazar 2 white widow n the bigger girl is a grandaddy purple also one other thing i changed my light over to the HPS the other day (I have a 400W MH/HPS standard bulbs) and 20 mins into it my tops started leaning over and some of the top new leaves coming from the tip tried to fold in onto itself to protect itself i would assume do i need to harden it to the HPS??????? plz if i can get some knowledgable help it would be greatly appreciated i'm no dummy just simply lacking experience ( oh and yes i know i need to put the babies in soil in much bigger pots another finance thing )

Set them outside they'll flower now. Yes most plants stretch 200% of the size when you started flowering. Purple kush and grand daddy dont stretch, veg them big. I think those hazes and sativas are going to maybe stretch 300%.

If someone could also help me with this one
ok if my sativas are gonna stretch 300% and my closet is 8ft H and my 400w has to be kept 2 to 4 ft away does anyone have any recommendations as to how i might accomplish this without an unhealty extreme topping? outside is out of the question i have a busy body gossiping neighbor from hell hell hell

just bend the branches if they seem to be getting to close to the light....no topping means much less stress....just bend them and use a tie down to hold them where you would like them.....its also a great way to get more of your plant closer to the light...not just the top

short on cash
A realy effective and super cheap way too cool your small grow is to place a bucket of water in front of a fan blowing air over the top of the bucket as the water evaporates its blown over plants cooling them by as much as 5-10 degrees results varry (REFRIDGERATION IS ONE PART HYDRATION AND ONE PART EVAPORATION) hope that helps some
