I'm about to build, and maintain a 4ft x 4ft x 6.5ft grow box, but I'm looking to use a DWC method (Deep-Water Culture) where you grow hydroponically and the roots are kept in a large container dangling, in a 100% humid enviroment w/ a splash or drip line to provide nutrients . . .
Has anyone ever tried this method before? It's easily explained in the marijuana horticulture book by jorge cervantes; It looks to be an easy setup and also cost-effective.
I want to use florescent lighting due to costs then switch over to the red lighting during flowering, can anyone suggest brands they've used ?
Also, any suggestions on exhaust work in a small area? Since I'm going to be creating this box myself, i've gone to rugged designs for expense needs. Simply said, a combination in multiple locations of large computer fans for the ventilation (due to room restrictions)
like this:
figure 1a shows a standard design, alternating the face of the fan causes the flow of the air, and if I push / pull with probably 2 rows of 3 large fans on two alternating sides connected to an SLA battery for constant power w/o using my elec. bill could that provide sufficient ventilation (assuming the in side was the fresh air side of course)

I'm looking to pinch where I can, and try to grow as bountiful as possible, expecting probably 1/2lb - 1lb for the box under prime conditions without a $150 electric bill. (4 plants)
