Daisy Cloner - I never cloned like this
Well I've tried and tried to clone. Trainwreck, forget it. I tried 20 cuts to root 1 of those and failed. Even if I get roots on an easy strain it takes 3 or 4 weeks.
I saw these daisy cloners for $65, they come in 2 styles, both the same price. 4 site or 8 site. The info I got on the web was a little sketchy. So I bought one and am putting the info out. Lets get to the doc sheet.
Like I said the unit comes in 4 or 8 site and we have the 8 site. Everything is included, and there are even spares, you are given 9 net pots and neoprene donuts, and you get 2 spray heads. Too cool.
Assembly is a breeeze, the critical fittings have teflon tape already on them from the factory. Again very nice anti-leak and well thought out from the factory. You see on the package it is signed off by 2 QA inspecters. I'm happy with these little details.
The cloneing instructions help. I just stirred some rooting hormone in the water, I didn't bother with the power clone product as it says what it is.
The proof is in the pudding. These clones are 2 days old. They fell completely over and looked really bad, a couple still do, my fault on those, they are just too small on the business end.
The others look great. I can already see a bit of roots after 2 crummy days. Goodbye dome and cubes.

hey
wow man. nice roots. i suck at cloning. i just purchased the daisy as well. i used rooting gel on my babies and it's been about 9 days with not really any sign of rooting. did you use any rooting gel or powder on yours? did you just cut the clone at a 45 degree and stick it in the daisy? any info to help get good looking roots like that in a couple days would be fantastic. I have a healthy white widow mom so i could start over at any time if i have to. hit me back...

Check the sprinkler
After 9 or 10 days you should be seeing something. Sometimes it's taken me that long to get some roots.
Yes I rub them with gel, cut them at 45 degrees and cut them just below a node, because that's where the roots like to form first.
If I were you I wouldn't change much, maybe add 3 to 5 ml of just bloom nutes like big bud or awesome blossoms. Nitrogen hampers roots growth but the P&K help developing roots. I have added the nutes (remeber small amount) around day 9 and seen some cool results so let us know.
Also in case you don't know the sprinkler head can get plugged, it's good to check and if plugged unscrew it and suck on it, ya you heard me, suck it.
oNCE YOU SEE THOSE BUMPS IT'S ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS
ready for transplant after a couple weeks

That should inspire the lad indeed, nice roots, nice shot.
Cutting below a node is good advice also put the cloner on a timer, 15 on 15 off is perfect with no need to spray during the dark cycle, if there is one, I run 18/6. FInding a timer like that is tough, the mechanical ones with tabs get stuck, but they can go a couple days without, so just inspect daily and you'll see if they wilt.
I scruff up the area I put gel on like scrape it gently with a knife to soften the stem. It seems like my clones don't skip a beat, the original leaves from the mom continue green and healthy like nothing happened but the roots are like the pics above, tons of roots on a tiny baby plant.

what a great way to describe it for the rest of us, thanks!!
I may pick up one of these, I'm going to try cloning very soon, first just in the grow plugs and my tray with heating pad, but I may pick one of these up to increase success rates

Interesting...
Cloning is the only way i know. I've never had a clone take longer than a week to need to be moved, and they might sag for a day to three max. I do one thing different than what i've seen any where else, after i cut the 45 (just below the leaf intersects), I then make a small slit up the center of the clone before dipping it into clonex gel (as fast as i possibly can). Then, depending on the strain, they go directly into a clonex cube and tray under 8 40w fluorescent bulbs, or directly into the growing medium for the ones that wont grow in a hydro setup. Don't know why, except all i can think is this particular strain has been in soil for more than three decades as well as the p1, and lovin it all the way to the bong! Anyway, either way i have no problems... but if they do take too long... out the door they go, survival of the fittest forever. I think as long as you use sharp, clean scissors, grab a med size, healthy looker, and get her into some water asap, you should do ok. Have a good attitude and feel confident about it. Maybe tell her shes only got a few days to root and shes out the door... they do respond to conversation. Good luck.
